Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) will allocate approximately Rs. 1.5 billion each year to develop and promote school cricket, Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Sunil Kumara Gamage told Parliament today (24).
The funding channeled through the School Cricket Association will support infrastructure upgrades, sports equipment, and school-level tournaments.
The Minister added that plans are also underway to develop cricket grounds at selected locations in collaboration with SLC.
