Sri Lankan badminton star Nadeesha Gayanthi received a hero’s welcome at Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) this morning after a dominant performance at the 108th All England Senior Badminton Championship.
Gayanthi returned home today, April 15, via Emirates flight EK-650, carrying both a gold and a silver medal from the prestigious international tournament held in London.

The championship, which took place from April 10 to 12, featured a competitive field of approximately 400 players from 25 nations. Despite the stiff global competition, Gayanthi emerged as a standout athlete:
- Gold Medal: Women’s Singles (Over-40 category)
- Silver Medal: Mixed Doubles
