The prestigious Eagles’ Quadrangle Cup Golf Tournament 2026 is set to return for its fifth edition on June 13 and 14, with the tournament making its historic debut at the scenic Eagles’ Citadel Golf Course in Sigiriya.
Organised by the Sri Lanka Air Force through its Eagles’ Golf Links and Courses, the tournament has become one of the most anticipated events on Sri Lanka’s annual golfing calendar. This year’s championship is expected to bring together some of the country’s leading golfers in a unique setting surrounded by the cultural and natural beauty of Sigiriya.
JAT Holdings Leads Sponsorship Drive
The fifth edition of the tournament has received strong corporate backing, with JAT Holdings (Pvt) Ltd coming on board as the Main Sponsor.
Several prominent companies have also partnered with the event, enhancing its profile and reach. The Automobile Partners are Browns EV (Pvt) Ltd and LOLC Finance PLC, while Jetwing Hotels Ltd serves as the Hospitality Partner.
Meanwhile, NCG Holdings (Pvt) Ltd has joined as the Transport Partner, and TVS Lanka (Pvt) Ltd has been named the Motor Riding Partner. Additional support has been extended by Pro Golf and King Charters as Supporting Partners.
Inter-Club Rivalry Takes Centre Stage
The Eagles’ Quadrangle Cup is a team-based inter-club tournament designed to foster friendship, sportsmanship, camaraderie and healthy competition among Sri Lanka’s golfing community.
The competition will feature four clubs, each represented by a 15-member team that includes two female golfers. Teams will compete for the coveted Eagles’ Quadrangle Cup Trophy in what is expected to be a closely contested battle among some of the country’s finest amateur golfers.
The championship will culminate with the presentation of awards on June 14.
Trophy Unveiled at Official Press Briefing
The official media briefing for the tournament was held on June 4 at Air Force Headquarters, where the ceremonial unveiling of the Eagles’ Quadrangle Cup Trophy was conducted by Gihan Seneviratne, Air Vice Marshal and Deputy Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Air Force.
The event also featured the symbolic presentation of sponsorship cheques by the tournament’s official partners, reaffirming their commitment to supporting the continued growth of golf in Sri Lanka.
Strong Representation at Launch Event
Among those present at the media briefing were Erandika Gunewardene, Air Commodore and Chairman of SLAF Golf, Nalin Wewakumbura, Group Captain and Director Media of the SLAF, Eranda Geeganage, Group Captain and Secretary of the Air Force Sports Council, and Thushan Fernando, Wing Commander and Secretary of Air Force Golf.
Corporate representatives in attendance included Aelian Gunawardena, Pavithra Jayasekara, Hashan Coorey, Nikitha Grero and Malaka Vehalla.
Sigiriya Set to Provide Unique Backdrop
The move to Sigiriya for the first time in the tournament’s history is expected to add a fresh dimension to the event. The Eagles’ Citadel Golf Course offers a distinctive playing experience surrounded by one of Sri Lanka’s most celebrated heritage and tourism destinations.
With strong sponsorship support, competitive inter-club participation, and a spectacular venue, the Eagles’ Quadrangle Cup Golf Tournament 2026 is poised to be one of the standout sporting events on the national golf calendar.
