Sri Lanka’s cricket administration has entered a decisive phase of transition following a major intervention by the government, as the Minister of Sports formally accepted the resignation of the Executive Committee of Sri Lanka Cricket, including its president, Shammi Silva.
In an official statement, the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports confirmed that, with immediate effect, all administrative, operational, and regulatory functions of the national cricket body have been brought under direct ministerial oversight.
