Sysco LABS recently hosted Tech Liga 2026, a futsal tournament that brought together Sri Lanka’s technology sector for a day of competition, networking, and team bonding beyond the workplace.
The event was held at Club Fusion and featured 14 teams representing 10 leading technology companies, competing across a packed schedule of 42 league-stage matches.
The tournament followed a group-based format, with teams split into two groups before advancing to the knockout rounds, including semi-finals and a final.
Sysco LABS Team A topped Group A with five wins and one draw, showcasing strong consistency throughout the group stage. Meanwhile, Sysco LABS Team B dominated Group B with an unbeaten run across all six matches.
The semi-final stage produced closely contested encounters, with LSEG B defeating Sysco LABS Team A 3-2 in a tight clash. In the other semi-final, IFS A delivered a strong performance to beat Sysco LABS Team B 4-1.
The final saw a dramatic finish between IFS A and LSEG B, with both teams locked at 1-1 at the end of full time. The championship was ultimately decided by penalties, where IFS A held their nerve to secure a 5-4 shootout victory and claim the Tech Liga 2026 title.
The victory marked a memorable end to a highly competitive tournament that showcased talent and teamwork across Sri Lanka’s tech industry.
Sysco LABS said initiatives like Tech Liga continue to strengthen collaboration, workplace culture, and professional relationships within the country’s growing technology ecosystem.
