Prima Sunrise Backs Rising Stars at Sri Lanka Regional Junior Open Golf Championship 2026

Prima Sunrise has reaffirmed its commitment to developing junior sporting talent in Sri Lanka by sponsoring the Sri Lanka Regional Junior Open Golf Championship 2026, organised by Sri Lanka Golf and staged over three days at the historic Nuwara Eliya Golf Club from 8–10 May.

The championship brought together some of the country’s most promising young golfers, with strong performances across both boys’ and girls’ categories, highlighting the steady rise of junior golf in Sri Lanka.

Algama Clinches Boys’ Gold Division Title

In the Boys’ Gold Division, Reshan Algama delivered a composed and consistent performance to secure the championship title with a total score of 216. His rounds of 72, 71, and 73 demonstrated remarkable stability under competitive pressure.

Lavidu Premarathna of Lyceum International School, Anuradhapura, finished a close runner-up with 218, while Adithya Weerasinghe of Ananda College claimed third place with 219, also producing the tournament’s standout second-round score of 69.

Lorance Shines in Girls’ Division

The Girls’ Gold and Silver Combined Division saw an equally competitive battle, with Sithara Lorance emerging as champion on her home course in Digana. Lorance finished with a total of 266, showing impressive composure across all rounds.

She was closely challenged by Anumi Karunathilake of Good Shepherd Convent, Kandy, and Genuli Weerakoon of Lyceum International School, Anuradhapura, who both finished tied for second place on 274.
