SIGIRIYA, Sri Lanka – The 5th edition of the Eagles’ Quadrangle Cup concluded in spectacular fashion on 14 June 2026, with Royal Colombo Golf Club emerging as champions after an impressive performance at the newly established Eagles’ Citadel Golf Course in Sigiriya.
Organised by the Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) in collaboration with Eagles’ Golf Links and Courses, the prestigious inter-club tournament was staged at the Sigiriya venue for the first time, offering players a memorable experience against the breathtaking backdrop of the iconic Sigiriya Rock Fortress and its rich cultural landscape.
The tournament was graced by Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Bandu Edirisinghe, and showcased high-level competition among four of Sri Lanka’s leading golf clubs – Eagles’ Golf Links, Royal Colombo Golf Club, Victoria Golf Resort, and Nuwara Eliya Golf Club.
Each team consisted of 15 golfers, including a minimum of two female players, with the final standings determined by the aggregate scores of the top ten performers from each side.
Led by Mr. Nishantha Perera, Royal Colombo Golf Club secured the coveted Eagles’ Quadrangle Cup after finishing with the highest overall team score.
Individual Award Winners
In the Gents’ Division, Mr. Ken De Alwis claimed the Nearest to the Pin title, while Mr. Haroon Aslam won Longest Drive honours.
In the Ladies’ Division, Ms. Roshan Shyanthi Peries captured the Nearest to the Pin award, with Ms. Sandra Cardien taking the Longest Drive title.
Mr. Nishantha Perera was named Best Overall Gross Score Runner-Up, while Ms. Pravina Dunuwille received the Best Overall Net Score Runner-Up award. Mr. Haroon Aslam delivered an outstanding all-round performance to secure both the Best Overall Gross Score and Best Overall Net Score titles.
The tournament was primarily sponsored by JAT Holdings PLC, with Browns EV (Pvt) Ltd and LOLC Finance serving as the Automobile Partner, Jetwing Hotels Ltd as the Hospitality Partner, NCG Holdings (Pvt) Ltd as the Transport Partner, and TVS Lanka (Pvt) Ltd as the Motor Riding Partner. Pro Golf and King Charters also joined as supporting partners.
The event concluded with a colourful awards ceremony attended by Air Chief Marshal Kolitha Gunathilake, Air Chief Marshal Kapila Jayampathi, senior Sri Lanka Air Force officials, representatives of sponsoring organisations, and distinguished guests.
With its successful debut at Eagles’ Citadel Golf Course, the 5th Eagles’ Quadrangle Cup not only celebrated golfing excellence but also highlighted Sigiriya’s growing potential as a premier destination for sports tourism in Sri Lanka.
