The stage is officially set for the sixth edition of the Lanka Premier League as the highly anticipated LPL 2026 Player Draft gets underway today at Cinnamon Life.
The player draft marks a crucial milestone in preparations for the tournament, with franchises set to assemble their squads ahead of another exciting season of franchise cricket in Sri Lanka.
A total of 421 players have entered the draft pool, including 179 Sri Lankan cricketers and 242 overseas players from around the world. The diverse pool offers franchises a wide range of options as they look to build balanced and competitive teams.
The draft is expected to feature a mix of established international stars, experienced Sri Lankan campaigners, and emerging young talents eager to make their mark on the country’s biggest T20 competition.
